Centuries ago, villagers prayed for protection from wild animals. When their prayers were answered, they built this shrine. Today, thousands of brass bells hang from every wall and ceiling—each one a wish granted. Carry a small bell as your offering.
Tip: Buy brass bells at the temple entrance. Tie one when your wish comes true.
Half day
Near Dunagiri Hills, where Mahavatar Babaji—the deathless saint described in Autobiography of a Yogi—is said to have meditated. Rajinikanth visits regularly. A place of profound spiritual energy that draws seekers from across the world.

A Century of Stories
Walk through Ranikhet and you walk through time. The wide, tree-lined avenues where British officers once strolled.
Local Tip:
Visit the KRC Shawl Factory, run by army widows. Their hand-woven tweeds carry the warmth of Kumaoni craftsmanship.
The British establish Ranikhet as a cantonment town, choosing it for its climate over even Shimla.
The red-tiled church rises among the pines, its bells still calling the faithful every Sunday morning.
British engineers build the dam to supply water to the cantonment. Today, it is a peaceful retreat.
We open our doors, continuing Ranikhet's tradition of welcoming travelers seeking peace.
